Welcome to the new Hull Uni Computer Society website
You can still access our old forums here.
However, they will be deactivated in time so please fill this new site with content.

 We'll be hosting our famous FragFest LAN at The Lawns on Saturday 21st March.
It will take place at The Lawns Center (on the left as soon as you're in the front doors). There is a small fee of £3 to attend, this is to cover the cost of hiring of the room.
It will start at 10am and run until 9pm. The Lawns will provide us with sandwiches at lunch which we can buy from the food bar. We can order take away in the evening as well if you would like.
It's a bring your own computer (BYOC) event and we'll be playing whatever you want to play! Game information and requests can be found in the relevant forum thread here.

We now have a few events that we are trying arrange.
First of all, we are aiming to have a trip to Alton Towers in the first week back after Easter (April 20th - 24th). We'll arrange it for the best day that suits everyone! So if you want to come along please show your interest on the forum and let us know what day is best for you.
Secondly, we're in the process of arranging movies nights at Planet Coffee on Newland Avenue. We can hire out the upstairs for no cost (meaning no cost for you, other than the drinks you buy) and we will show what you want to see. Whether it be a movie like Tron or The Matrix or a TV series like The IT Crowd or The Big Bang Theory. Again, please show your interest on the forums.
Finally, we're trying to arrange another trip along the lines of paintballing or airsofting. What would people prefer? There will be a vote to decide and again, please show your interest on the forums.
If you want these events to go any ahead, you must let us know. If there is no interest, there is no point in running these events. |

On Tuesday 7th October at 16:15 we will be having a meeting in Robert Blackburn, room 312.
This meeting is for all members and those wishing to register with the society as well.
We will be discussing what events you want to see, your interest in society T-Shirts, competitions and any ideas you have.
After the meeting will we be heading to Sanctuary, the bar in the student union. This is so you all get a a chance to get to meet everyone in the society and the committee members.
We are aware some members will have a lecture after the meeting, but feel free to join us once that is finished. |

| Successful Societies Fair |

 I'd just like to take the chance to welcome all our new members that have signed up to HUCS this year.
It was a very successful day at the societies fair and I also want to thank everyone who helped out. Credits goto Momentai, Shinaku, Sacro and the HUCS committee members. |

 We have uploaded a couple of variations of the HUCS flyer into the downloads section of the website.
If you haven't had a look already, there are a couple of pictures in the gallery as we hope to keep this website up to date with all HUCS content. |

 Not only have we released this new site, but we know people like to choose between styles.
We have therefore developed 2 different themes. These themes are called Paradox and ZoneCopper and can be switched in your profile options here.
We hope that these 2 styles cater for everyone. |

Well, it's been in development for a while now and there have been multiple pre-release versions of the site.
However, we have now decided on the final solution.
Unfortunately we cannot port the content or members from our old forums. They are still being hosted and can be accessed here. However, they will be deactivated in time so please fill this new site with content.
A lot of work has gone into the new look and site so we hope you appreciate it. |
